We might be healthy eaters on a regular basis, but that certainly doesn’t mean we’re the kind of family who skips the sweets all together! We’d rather practice balance so that when we do enjoy a sweet snack, we don’t have to feel guilty about it. We find, however, that because we like to make our desserts ourselves, we tend to go on “kicks”, if you will. One month we’ll fall in love with cupcakes and make all different kinds, and the next month we’ll be on to creative types of cookies. So, what’s our current homemade sweet favourite, you ask? We’ve actually been obsessed with dessert breads!

Just in case you’re as intrigued by dessert breads as we were when we first started looking at all the different options, here are 15 of our very favourite recipes!

1. Sweet bread pudding

If you’ve never had bread pudding before then we’re sorry to tell you that you’ve been missing out! As if the concept of sweet dessert bread wasn’t good enough, bread pudding involves a delicious, warm sauce on top that makes the bread wonderfully soft, even if it’s still not quite the texture of the regular puddings you’re probably used to. We’ve actually tried this scrumptiously warm caramel drizzled bread pudding from Dessert Addict before and we highly recommend it.

When we first came across this recipe, we vaguely wondered what “messy” bread was, but we realized as soon as we saw the recipe! Ducane Diet: egg salad for breakfast

  • 2 hard boiled eggs
  • green onions (can be 2-3 pieces)
  • sour cream of the lowest caloric content you can find – 100 g
  • seasonings to taste (although you can do without them)

How to cook?

Eggs cut into small cubes, cut the onion as small as possible, all this is mixed with sour cream and spices. The nutritious salad is ready for Ducant. And you are certainly ready for weight loss .

Dukan’s diet: pancakes from a courgette plus salmon

  • zucchini green, small – 0.5 kg
  • sweet pepper – 1 piece
  • cornstarch – 2 tablespoons
  • raw eggs – 3 pieces
  • salmon – 200 g
  • Spices to taste (you can without them)

How to cook?

Zucchini alternately three on a large grater. Leave, let the juice drain off. Cut the pepper rings, cut the salmon into cubes or slices, drive 3 raw eggs into this mass. We mix all this with grated zucchini, add spices to taste.

Fry all this in a frying pan with a couple of droplets of sunflower or corn oil. All! You can eat and lose weight at the same time!

Ducane Diet: Delicious bread in 3 minutes

  • Bran oats – 2 tablespoons
  • Wheat bran – 1 tablespoon
  • Eggs raw – 2 pieces
  • Kefir 1% – 2 tablespoons
  • Corn starch – 4 tablespoons
  • Cottage cheese with fat content from 0% to 1% – 250 grams
  • Baking Powder – 10 grams

How to cook?

Mix in one bowl starch, baking powder and bran (both types). We add a little salt – just a little bit.

In another bowl, mix the beaten eggs, kefir and cottage cheese. Now you can mix these two masses and put the baked in the oven at a temperature of 200 degrees for half an hour.

After 30 minutes, a chic Ducan dish will be ready, and you can enjoy its taste with a red fish or just a green cucumber. Bon appetit with a recipe for Ducane dishes!

Ducane Diet: Baked Hake Fillet

Have you already bought a hake fillet? For the recipe of this dish it will need about 200 grams

  • Juice of 2 lemons
  • Salt
  • Spices and herbs

How to cook?

Wet hake fillets in freshly squeezed lemon juice and leave for 30-40 minutes. This will be enough to make the fish soaked with fragrant lemon juice. Salt it to taste, sprinkle with herbs and put into the oven for 10-15 minutes.

An enticing aroma wafts through my house when this tender cake-like pumpkin bread is in the oven. I bake extra loaves to give as holiday gifts. My friends wait eagerly for it every year. —Linda Burnett, Prescott, Arizona

Prep: 15 min. Bake: 50 min. + cooling

  • 5 large eggs
  • 1-1/4 cups canola oil
  • 1 can (15 ounces) solid-pack pumpkin
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 2 cups sugar
  • 2 packages (3 ounces each) cook-and-serve vanilla pudding mix
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  1. In a large bowl, beat the eggs. Add oil and pumpkin; beat until smooth. Combine remaining ingredients; gradually beat into pumpkin mixture.
  2. Pour batter into five greased 5-3/4x3x2-in. loaf pans. Bake at 325° for 50-55 minutes or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean. Cool for 10 minutes before removing from pans to wire racks to cool completely.
    Freeze option: Securely wrap and freeze cooled loaves in plastic and foil. To use, thaw at room temperature. Yield: 5 mini loaves (8 slices each).

Editor’s Note: Bread may also be baked in two greased 8x4x2-in. loaf pans for 75-80 minutes.
